TASK 3

My final presentation that I have produced will look into the outcome of the research and what we have decided to do for the product as shown below in the power-point slides: 


Slide #1 (Introduction)

This slide mainly will focus on introducing the topic and what the presentation will be about. To make sure that the presentation is formal I will need to insure when speaking that I keep good eye contact. In addition to this I will also need to insure that I introduce the topic and myself, brief summary of what presentation consists of.


Notes

  • Provide a brief summary of what the presentation will look at and what will be based on.
This will be something like "I will be discussing the decisions our group has based on the research I have collected and also from other team members."


Slide #2 (OUR GROUP IDEA & DEVELOPMENT)

This slide looks into our group idea and the development to reach the decisions for Zeus Sport as our product, within this section of the presentation I have include clip art to make the slide more appealing, with key subheading to know what to be said and also a print screen from the mood-board annotated in our ideas and images as its representation.

  • Discuss the ideas that we thought for our production and also who's ideas we based it on. 
  • Point out the mood-board to individuals and go through the ideas we had for our production in our advertisement and what we want to include

This slide looks into our group decisions based on our results, this includes the pie charts and graphs from our research. It includes bullet point for the decision that we as a group selected on from the support of our primary research and also the secondary research.

Slide #4 (PRODUCTION COSTS)

This slide within the presentation looks at the production costs for Zeus sport from the research used as shown below: 

For this section of the presentation I will need to make sure that I go through the budgets and when doing so justify why the price is set to the that budget from the research. From this stage specifically go through the subheading and explain the decisions of place and cost for them.


Slide #5 (REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION)

This slide looks into the requirements for the production, this including the following aspects such as the props required and the costumes required, Production list of equipment's needed and also the post production lists for our production.

  • Take about the props that will be needed for the production and why will be using them, make reference to mis-en-scene and complementing the theme. 
  • Costumes type and reason to it and make sure reference to overall message being portrayed is included
  • Production list for equipment to be added in, this being the use of camera's, tripod etc

In this slide for the presentation it will look into the locations for the production, this being in Sidney Stringer Academy and the sport facilities that will be used. Within this slide their is support in the use of clip art and images of the locations in Sidney Stringer Academy that we as a group will be recording in as shown below:

Reporting my research in a media context 

For the research completed I am now going to put together my information to present my finding, I will do this by using a presentation to inform viewers of our group product and also present the audience research collected.

How we are going to market our product 


Our advert promotes the energy drink ZEUS Sport.

What defines our product is that it is an all-natural stimulant. It will include ingredients as guana and Caffeine. This will allow our product to differentiate in contrast to other energy drinks. We will be providing the options for individuals to be able to purchase either a can or a bottle depending on their interest. This will insure that our product is able to reach the consumers requirements.

Our target market for Zeus Sport will be mainly focused on individuals who regularly participate in sport or individuals who just want to purchase a drink. We will be targeting to both male and female consumers. The age group that we will be targeting towards is from 13 and older.

The advert will be a realist narrative and will focus on two characters, this being Gift and Daniel. The advertisement will include persuasive techniques; we will do this to insure that we are able to gain the interest of our consumers. We will do this by the use of a slogan or even a jingle. Our group slogan for the product will be “live it longer… the extension energy drink” we have decided to use this as it supports our TV advertising in terms of Gift and Daniel’s performance when consuming either water or Zeus Sport.

The price that we have set for our product is £1.60, the product will appear in many supermarkets. Our decision to air our TV advertising will be on Sky and Sky Sports.  
The period of time that it will air at 5pm and onwards. Our production will be at an affordable budget, it will consist of only two characters, and we will only be using one camera.


Self Evaluation to the method selected 

In terms of the methods that our group have decided for the different aspects of our productions have been appropriate decisions, this being that them being based on our research completed has insured that we made more reasonable decisions for our product ZEUS sport.

The decision in advertising our product for SKY Sport is a good decision as a lot of our target audience will be watching this channel and will allow good awareness for our product, furthermore to this I am able to see that the decision is a good one for the business as the channel we are advertising on complements the sports theme for our product. However in terms of self evaluation as a group it would have been better to select a channel more diverse and not just sport related so that we can gain the interest of a wide range of consumers.

Furthermore from our research the decisions we made as a group are suitable for our product as it allows it to reach near professional standards, our decision looks out for the best in our target audience and the market we are being place in so that we are able to insure that the success meets the requirements of consumers. I am able to also see that we have looked at the success of ZEUS SPORT as a whole, looking at also the short term and long term factors for our product, this being done due to the fact that we have insured that we future developments that Zeus Sport can incorporate to insure the success of our products and ways in which we can grow and expand but also aim to overcome our competitors.

Important Factors for production:
I am now going to look into the different factors that are very important when deciding to complete and provide something to the target audience and just generally and how these factors can impact the business in a major way:

Proof Reading 

This aspect is very important as individuals presenting information or documenting will need to insure that is correct and no mistakes are made, one method in doing so to limit these factors within work is by prof-reading  by going over the information included this can allow mistakes to be limited. This is one major factor within any work this being that minor mistakes can cause the professionalism of a document and so on to be affected, this could then leave less value for the business. Resulting to the interest of the individuals to be low as simple factors can not be adjusted and sorted.


Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar 

This factor within any piece of work is very important as it can affect the professionalism of a business, for example making a spelling mistake in the name of a product could mean that the whole idea will look very unprofessional and this will provide a message of the working ethic this being very low as simple factors like this can not be prevented, therefore spelling, punctuation and grammar are vital aspects fro individuals when doing any sort of project or providing information  This can be insured by the use of proof reading to limit mistakes and insure that information provided is at a good standard.

Structure 

Another factor that is important is the structure information provide, this is important as the information that is being presented need to be clear and understandable to the audience. Therefore by setting in a structure will allow the information to be easier to communicate to the audience. The use of paragraphs, headings, subheading and so on are a great method in establishing structure within work and information that will be presented. Once again this is an important factor to insure that professionalism is maintained.

TASK 1

Extracting information from written sources 

Within this unit I will be extracting information from different sources based on my advertising unit 30 for Zeus Sport. I will be gaining information from a wide range of sources, this is as follows: 

Books

I am now going to gain information from books that I have gained from the library to help support my Unit 30, this are the results I have gained from the books:

Looking at the juice from this book, in relation to Zeus sport I am able to see that these types of drinks can allow Zeus Sport to expand in their range, this being the offering of different flavours for the energy. This being more targeted fro health then Zeus Sport can use this as a method introducing and expanding the market in the nearby future, this by including juice drinks that help with health which can then be adjusted to be sport related.

The main thing from the book that I have identified fro Zeus Sport is the use of having different flavours as when looking at the juice book I am able to see that their is a wide range of flavours with different names. It can allow the business to expand advertising and also allow a better unique selling point for Zeus sport this can in the future help insure that there is a wide range of flavours.

The second book that I gained from the library is as follows:

I decided to move on and look specifically at a book for energy in foods and drinks. When looking at the index I came across energy and looked into the section and found the energy for the drinks. Looking at the information from the book I am able to see that the drink is for sow-release energy and is great sport booster however before. Looking at this I am able to see that this is a great option for Zeus Sport to take in consideration for future goal in producing different flavors and looking at the scanned image above I am able to see that the this option in expanding to different flavors for Zeus Sport can be a great method in gaining the interest of consumers and also a development of the unique selling point I am able to see that having a before sport booster is a great method in setting our products apart from other competitors.


Websites

The use of websites are very important in order to gain a wide range of answers and support for the unit and to insure that my decisions can be supported by the findings. Within this segment when looking at websites, I am going to be focusing on a wide range of aspects including the target audience, competitors that Zeus sport can face and also ratings.

Target Audience (Media & Programme Preferences)

I began by looking at a website, this being BARB to find more information on my target audience. This information looks at the viewing for different channels over a year, the results focus from 1981 to 2012. However I have got my print screen more specific by only including the 3 years from 2010 to 2012. My results show the following for the different channels:


















Looking at the results above I am able to see that many of the channels have had an increase and decrease in viewing annually year on. I am able to see that 1TV 1 has over these three years decreased whereas ITV1+1 has increased from 2011 to 2012. Looking at this I am able to see that in comparison to my primary research that this focus on a wide range of other channels however also gives consideration to advertising on different channels but at the same time it makes our group decision in selecting SKY or Channel 4 a reasonable decision as in terms of individuals watching other channels has also increased over the years as you are able to see on the right hand side of the print screen therefore this information supporting my primary research.

I am now moving onto looking at media preferences and specifically at the use of television and how many are owned by different categories. 



Looking into my the website used, from results I am able to see that those who have a television in their homes in 2013 has increased for all categories apart from digital TV homes. I am able to see that for a media preferences of selecting television is a good choice for Zeus sport as when looking at my research from BARB website I am able to see that a lot individuals have the use of television at home, therefore opting to advertise on television can be a great option for Zeus Sport.

Looking at the results above I am able to see that from the use of years this starting from 1998 to 2013 that their is a development and growth individuals having television, I am able to see that this growth supports our group decision in using television as our media preference.


I am moving onto to now looking at the growth in the market and seeing its development in the consumption of energy drinks and this is the result that I have gained as shown below:


Looking at the market of energy drinks consumption in a long run I am able to see the following print screen showing the development from 2005 to 2011. Looking at the graph shown from the research I am able to see the success that the energy drinks are making over the years therefore making this market a good decision for Zeus Sport to enter. 


I am able to see that from the print screen above that target market for sports drinks are as follows, this being that many individuals are interested in "healthier lifestyle", this which helps sustain the "market's value". Looking at this information I am able to see that their is success for the market that Zeus sport will also be apart of therefore making our group decision in this segment a reasonable decision. Furthermore to this I am able to see that the use of sports drinks looking at the this I am able to see that the report is from 2005 however when looking at the information below I am able to see that the information gained is still reliable as the growth has expanded in the consumption of energy drinks. 


Competitors 

I am now moving onto looking at website that are more based on the competitors that Zeus sport will be facing and these are the results below that I have gathered: 

The two business are appealing to their target audience in a wide range of methods this including the use of television but also the use of website to advertise their product. Looking at Lucazode website I am able to see that following in their website:



Looking above you are able to see lucozade website, by looking at this you are able to see that their is a wide range of techniques which the business has implemented in order to gain the interest of consumers as described in the annotations. Looking at the use of websites this is a great method to advertise and for Zeus Sport can also be a great method in the future and this being supported by the development in technology therefore this can be a great media of advertisement.

For Powerade I am able to see that they also use a website to advertise their products and create awareness for their products.The website is shown below:




Looking at the website I am able to see the following factors:

  • The business use advertising techniques such as providing free gifts to gain the interest of consumers as you are able to see above. The use promotional techniques in order to support the product itself.
  • The website look at the unique selling point of the product and exploits it, this being why hydration matter and information on it. 
  • In addition to that is uses popular events and celebrity endorsement to advertise the product, this including the fact that the Olympics are used and also the athletes that are in the Olympics. 
  • The website also uses encouragement from social networking sites as it provides users to be able to find the business on Facebook, this insures that a wide range of target market are reached by the business. 

Social Networking Sites 

Another aspect that I am going to be looking at within my research is the use of social networking sites that appeal to consumers, this being a major element that one of my competitors use in order to gain the interest of consumers and to allow their product to be more appealing is through the use of social networking sites.

Powerade use Facebook as a method to gain the interest of their consumers


Looking at the image above you are able to see that the business Powerade have included their business in a Facebook page and this is directly linked into their website. When looking at the Facebook page, you are able to see that it is a successful method in gaining awareness and attention for the products that they are providing. 

Newspapers 

I am going to look at the newspaper from the Guardian which is shown below: 
  

Looking at the newspaper I am able to see that my competitors Lucozade and in addition to that Ribena are doing well as they are being put up for sale that could allow them a high amount of money coming into the business and their value being £1bn.

In addition to that I am also able to see that from the newspaper looks at the growth that both businesses are facing, this allow ZEUS SPORT to get a better understanding in how the business should co-operate and work to be successfully and gives a clear idea of the professional standards that need to be set in order to reach this success.

Magazines 

This is the advertisement I found, this focus on running in the park as shown below:



Looking at the advertisement used above, I am able to see the following factors that are being drawn to the consumers, start away I am able to see that the title "Let's talk about your park run" focuses on the market interest that I have identified from my research. This being that the product and consumers interest is based on consumers interest in living a healthier lifestyle, therefore start away the title engages individuals into the sports lifestyle, this drawing in the correct target audience interest instantly.

Another factor within the advertisement shown above is that we are able to see the product itself in the middle, this start away showing what the advertisement about, it is a great method insuring that the correct target audience are interested and take a further view on the advert shown above.

The advertisement includes the use of the business logo this allows identification of the business and can also aid the business in being to create awareness for the business. It can also be a great method in developing the brand image for the business. Furthermore to this you are able to see that the advert use some other well know companies from where you may be able to purchase the product, this can be a great method of establishing trust in the quality of the product depending on how individuals feel about the other companies. These companies such as Boots, Asda and so on are well established businesses therefore this can help aid the consumers decisions in purchasing the product.

Handouts/Mintel Repors 

I went to Coventry university library and gained some Mintel Reports information, this would usually cost money however being supported by the university I simple scanned the information so I can use it as part of my research, the results I have found from the Mintel Report is as follows:

I looked at the interest of internet users so that if in the future Zeus Sport were to decide on setting up a website than this would be a great method in attracting consumers. Below shows the first half of the Mintel report for the internet users: 


Looking at the results gained from the library I am able to see that more males use broad definition and also narrow definition for the internet, showing that if Zeus Sport were to decide on putting up the website than more males may be on the internet and therefore awareness can reach them, however looking at this their is less amount of girls in comparison, this does not have major impact to Zeus sport but also means that there is an opportunity to gain awareness from females as well. 

In terms of the demographics for the age I am able to see that the highest amount of individuals on broad definition is the age group of 15-24 which is also an advantage to Zeus Sport as it means that the target audience can be reached as they are good use in internet usage. 



Looking at the results I am able to see that the the marital status of those I am able to see that most individuals who are on the internet are single individuals as they rank the highest in both broad and narrow definition, following that also in terms of marital status are those who are married.

Looking at interest usage I am able to see that most individuals prefer that they use it at home this being that for Narrow definition most individuals are using it at home following home and at work at those at 38.5. Looking at this information shows that my target audience will be most likely to find out about our product website on the internet at home. Their are also other possibilities of individuals finding out about Zeus Sport if it is placed on the internet in the future aim and goal for the business.

Important Factors within my Research: 

Within my research for different information based on my advertising unit, there are important factors that I have taken in consideration when collecting the information required. These are: 

Skim Reading 
Skim reading, is where people will read between the lines. Will be looking at a text so that they person can have a general idea of the contents. So they will not be reading the whole paragraph they will just look and pick out certain things within it. The advantage will be that this does not take too long however, the drawbacks of skim reading is that sometimes important my not be picked up as they will not be concentrating and may not pick the information that they are portraying. An example of skim reading will be that some people use daily mail and they will just skim through the articles to gather information.

A method of Skimming that can be taken on broad is shown below: 


When researching for this unit, the image above shows a great method of scheming to see weather or not a book is suited to my research. This being by going through the following aspects before deciding to look any further. Looking at the table of contents will allow me to be clear on what is included in the book. The title page will instantly inform me of what the page will consists of. Furthermore to this I can also look at what the author said about the book as this will inform me of what will be talked about within the book. In addition to this looking at the index will help narrow to specific words this helping me find what I need at a faster rate. Finally the use of illustrations can demonstrate if the book is suited to my research. 

Scanning 
Scanning is where they will look at the parts very closely, so that they are able to identify information. Scanning will be used to find information. The advantage of this will be that they will find the information needed on the other hand when scanning there might be an issue this is because, it may take a lot of time which is bad this is because it means that it is time consuming and it will be taking a lot of time in order to go through all the documents needed to find crucial information. 

Article/Analysis 

I am now going to look at an article for my advertising unit 20, it is based on computers and how they are dominating the sports drink market, this shows that their is fierce competition that Zeus Sport will be facing.

Looking at the article I am able to see that the market for the sport drink forecast shows that it will do well, I am able to see that in relation to Zeus Sport it means that the product that we as a group are providing will be good enough in terms of our success.

I am also able to see that the main reason for the development in the market growth and the prediction from the growth in sports drinks are growing due to the fact that "consumer attitudes towards health and fitness", looking at this I am able to see that their is potential success for Zeus Sport as the developing interest in health and this interest will allow the development of Zeus Sport. Furthermore to this I am able to see that  in the market their is "rising enrolments and health clubs, fitness centres and gyms, and a surge in demand for heather refreshments options." The more individuals who go into the business means better success for Zeus Sport and also in the market their is identification of an increase in demand. This in relation to Zeus Sport is important as the more demand their is for this certain market the more success it can help aid within the business.

Another identification from the article is the growth in market, I am able to see that that the sector has grown strongly "up by 64% 2007 - 2012"  I am able to see from this the success for this market is at a good level and can also meant that Zeus Sport have a chance in being able to be successful in the market as it is growing year on. From the article I am also able to identify that within this market their are different types sport nutrition drinks and that they are split into three different categories. It is said that "Sports drinks are increasingly being used as refreshment drinks" I am able to see from this statement that in the market its fuelling demand in these types of products this being the use of sports drink. Looking at this information I am able to see that in support of the success that Zeus Sport can have is a lot of potential and that in terms of its market it does stand a very good chance in the industry that it will be marketed in.

When looking at the article I am also able to see that different types of competitors are using different methods in being able to gain the interest of consumers, looking at coco cola as one I am able to see that it is said that they are "launching aggressive advertising campaigns" in order to promote their brands. I am able to see that in terms of my competitors they are advertising in order to gain the interest of consumers. In relation to Zeus sport it means that we will need to insure that we produce a good advertisement as well to insure that we are able to gain the interest of consumers and also gain awareness. In addition to that I am also able to see that from the article that Zeus Sport will need to aim and insure that the advertisement exploits factors of health as this is in demand therefore this will help gain the interest of consumers. This can be done through the use of having a theme related to healthiness/healthier lifestyle such as the the locations, story-lines and so on to insure that they are all complementing that theme to put across the health aspect to consumers.

When looking at the advertisement I am able to see that another major direct competitor to Zeus sport from earlier research from websites is Lucozade, I am able to see from the article that it is said that they remain the "market leader", this being that they are very successful and have overcome many other competitors to reach the position that they are at. I am able to see in relation to Zeus Sport that what we are aspiring is to be like Lucozade in order to reach the interest of consumers, however at the same time we need to insure that we have our own unique selling point to overcome the competition. However as they are a market leader we as a group will need to set in strategies to overcome our competitors in the aim of a long run.

From the research I am able to see that the success in Lucozade is very high this being that the sales that receive annually is also very and beneficial to the business. I am able to see that from the article that the as a business are receiving "£260 million" every year on sales and value and also volume growth. Looking at this in terms of the success that the business holds I am able to see that it is a major amount and that Lucozade success is high and that Zeus will be facing a hard competitive market to overcome. Looking at the article it also talks about different competitors and their success including Mountain Drew, Powerade.

Finally the article is summarised by going back to the sport drink market and says that the market is set to "witness exponential growth over the coming years due to new innovations, novel packaging and marked changes in consumers preferences"  Looking at this as a whole from the article I am able to see that for Zeus Sport that their is a great chance of success as it mentions new innovations which Zeus Sport can provide to consumers, therefore when looking at our product entering market I am able to see that their is great potential success for our product.
